Acteens
WMU® believes that lives can change when one discovers, embraces, and lives the call to missions. Missions education and involvement for students is essential in one’s journey with Christ from childhood to adulthood. For that journey, WMU® offers a missions organization distinctly for teenage girls – Acteens®. Students may also participate in Families on Mission.
What is Acteens?
Acteens® is the missions organization of WMU® for girls ages 12-18 or grades 7-12. This provides a Christ-based peer and prayer group for teenage girls. Acteens also serves as an opportunity for girls to grow in their understanding of God, themselves, and others. They will be given a glimpse of the world and see how God might use them to make a difference in it. Through learning experiences, teenage girls will begin to express their passion for missions and get in involved in missions work.
How does missions involvement change lives?
Acteens® will learn how God is at work in the world through mission stories. Teenage girls will be able to learn how to develop a lifestyle of missions and have a daily reminder that life isn’t all about them. Missions involvement will provide an opportunity for Acteens to broaden their worldview and apply what they learn to Christian ideals. Girls will be able to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives and understand more about God’s mission in the world. Acteens gives teenage girls a safe environment to explore God-given gifts and use those gifts for His glory. Girls will also be given the opportunity to learn about serving others through participating in ministry and missions projects. This level of missions education will encourage girls to provide outreach to the community, the church and non-churched families.

We are so glad that you are interested in Acteens®. Your involvement in a student’s life can make a huge difference. If your church has never had any other WMU age-level organizations or WMU leadership in your church, please visit our New Start Page because you could qualify for six months worth of free material. If your church has had other WMU age-level organizations please give us a call and we can advise you on what to do next to begin your new organization.
